Serves: 4–8
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 large uncooked pizza crust (homemade or from your local pizza shop)
- 1 tablespoon (15ml) olive oil
- ½ cup (120ml) sour cream cucumber sauce (tzatziki-style), divided
- ¼ of a salmon loaf (see note below), broken into pieces
- ¼ cup (about 60g) capers, drained
- ½ cup (75g) feta cheese, crumbled
- Fresh dill, chopped (for sprinkling and garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C / Gas 10) — the hotter, the better for a crisp crust.
- Prepare the dough: Roll or press the pizza dough onto a pizza pan or baking sheet. Brush evenly with the olive oil.
- Add the base: Spread half of the sour cream cucumber sauce over the oiled dough.
- Top generously: Distribute the broken pieces of salmon loaf evenly. Scatter the capers, crumbled feta, and most of the chopped dill on top. Reserve some dill for finishing.
- Bake: Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crisp.
- Finish & Serve: Remove from the oven. Drizzle with the remaining sour cream cucumber sauce and sprinkle with extra fresh dill. Slice and enjoy immediately!
Pro Tips
- The recipe for the salmon loaf and dill can be found in our previous post of Salmon Loaf Bringing Back A Classic.— it’s moist, flavorful, and perfect for this pizza.
- Use a pre-made dough from the grocery store or your favorite pizzeria to save time.
- Want it extra Mediterranean? Add thinly sliced red onions or Kalamata olives.
- Make it lighter by using Greek yogurt-based tzatziki instead of sour cream sauce.
This Mediterranean Salmon Pizza proves that pizza night can be both comforting and elegant. The combination of flaky salmon, briny capers, creamy sauce, and fresh herbs is simply irresistible!
